At Pall-Ex Logistics (Surrey), our people are at the heart of our operations, and we are focused on ensuring that all members of staff feel valued and have room to grow.
Today we spoke with Harrison Lee, a member of the team that is relatively new to the business but has already proven to be a great asset to the depot.
What is your role at Pall-Ex Logistics and what are your key responsibilities?
I am a Warehouse Operative on the afternoon shift and my job involves loading and unloading C&D drivers in a timely fashion to ensure that deliveries are made on time.
Since joining Pall-Ex Logistics (Surrey) three months ago, I’ve passed two forklift courses and learnt a lot about the industry.
How did you get into the logistics industry?
I live near the depot and I was looking for a career that gave me a chance to learn and be part of a team where my hard work really mattered. I have been fortunate to have great managers here at Pall-Ex Logistics (Surrey) who have already helped me to develop in such a short time.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced since joining the team?
I was nervous when I started but everyone supported me if I ever had any questions, which made me feel like part of the team straight from the beginning.
What sets Pall-Ex Logistics apart from other logistics companies?
The friendly attitude from everyone really stands out. The whole team works hard and at the same time everyone has each other’s backs which makes it a really positive environment to work in.
One of the most inspiring things at Pall-Ex Logistics (Surrey) is the quotes and pictures on the wall, as I find them really motivating. My personal favourite is the image spelling out ‘team’, as it really shows how important teamwork is to everyone across the business.
The General Manager is always busy but at the same time he always stops to say hello and asks how things are going. Everyone’s opinions and views are always taken into consideration here.
How would you describe the company ethos?
It is very much a team environment here at Pall-Ex Logistics, where all opinions are valued and no questions are silly. Working here has definitely brought me out of my shell and given me the confidence to ask questions and make suggestions. This is a great job, and I feel very settled working with a fantastic group of people. I can see myself being with Pall-Ex Logistics (Surrey) for a long time.
