Pall-Ex Logistics, part of the UK’s leading palletised freight distribution network Pall-Ex, has strengthened its commitment to greener logistics with the integration of two brand-new electric trucks into its fleet.

The two new vehicles – a DAF XB Electric truck and a 19-tonne Renault E-Tech all-electric truck from Allports Group – will predominantly serve Pall-Ex customers across London and the South East, both areas within the UK that are most impacted by poor air quality.
As a network, Pall-Ex is taking proactive steps to make its operations more sustainable, reducing its carbon output wherever possible. As fully electric vehicles, the two new trucks will play an important role in this, serving as a valuable pilot scheme for the roll-out of further electric vehicles across the Logistics fleet in the future.
To mark the significance of the new vehicles, Pall-Ex has also launched a brand-new livery for the trucks, highlighting Pall-Ex Logistics’ commitment to promoting and offering more sustainable freight distribution solutions to its customers.
Paul Pegg, Pall-Ex Logistics Managing Director said: “Sitting at the heart of the UK’s freight distribution supply chain, we know that Pall-Ex Logistics has a vital role to play in helping our customers – and the wider industry – make greener choices. By working closely with the teams at DAF and Allports Group, we have been able to invest in two trucks that deliver significant carbon-reduction benefits, without compromising on the efficiency and reliability for which Pall-Ex Logistics is known.
“This is an important milestone for the Pall-Ex Group as a whole, and serves as an exciting springboard from which to further decarbonise our fleet.”
The new truck investment comes at an exciting time for Pall-Ex’s wider sustainability initiatives, with the business recently announcing a brand-new Group HQ and flagship hub operation, in which eco-friendly features play a pivotal role. The new centre is being built to exceptional ESG standards, incorporating extensive electric vehicle charging points, solar panelling and designated green spaces to promote biodiversity.
Upon completion, the hub will be the first purpose-built facility to be entirely energy self-sufficient, setting the standard for environmentally responsible logistics.
